The seed in her Heart
Motivated by the struggles of her son with cerebral palsy and the lack of support for children with developmental disabilities, Lucia Mambure mobilized stigmatized women in similar situations to form supportive communities in Harare, leading to the establishment of the Chenga Ose Association.
School launch
Royal Creek, set to open in 2019, will include four classrooms, a vocational room for older students, a nursery/preschool, and a dedicated garden and orchard, with tuition covering rent and basic supplies, while an experienced family member will assist in bringing the produce to market.
Chicks help pay rent
The COA has purchased their first round of chicks which they will raise to adults then sell. The profits will go toward rent fees and buying more chicks of course! Here’s a pic of the first chicks to help pay the rent.
